Meet River,  an adorable 35# Blue heeler black lab mix around 1 year old.  River likes his playmates, toys, lots of cuddles and attention.  He loves to be with you but enjoys being outside in the fenced backyard running, playing with his playmates or napping in the sun.  He likes to hide his bones when he gets a chance but is not a troublesome digger.  River is 100% crate and potty trained.  He will whimper if he needs to go out and do his business.  River has really come out if his shell and loves to please you.  He is docile and has a personality that really shines!  He is neutered and up-to-date with all shots.   He can be shy since we don’t know his past so building trust is very important.  He doesn’t care to be leashed outside in the yard, but he will tolerate it for awhile.  He likes to roam inside a fenced area so he can run & jump. River needs to be leashed outside of the fenced area as he likes to venture.  He is very curious with his surroundings and follows that curiosity to check things out.  He does good with walking on a leash if it’s interesting to him.  Truck rides are pleasant with no behavioral issues.  Like all dogs, keep food etc out of reach.  River uses a doggie door and eats in the garage normally when he goes outside in the morning.  He doesn’t get upset when you go to take away a bone, his dish etc…but he will run away to keep what he wants. Eventually,  he’ll  come to you to please your request.  River is full grown and has the characteristics of the herding breed with the gentleness of the Labrador retriever.  You will like his gentle silliness once he opens up to you❣️

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $ 525.00

We are 100% volunteer based, so on occasion it could take more than the standard 24 hours.
