Elliot is an incredibly handsome and sweet gentleman lab mix around 5-yrs old. From the moment we picked him up, he’s been all gentle kisses and tail wags. He may be 80 pounds, but he still considers himself a lap dog. He loves to be where his people are but is pretty mellow and will often just lie at your feet and nap. He’s shown some interest in plush toys and he enjoys a stuffed Kong and bully sticks. Elliot walks well on a leash and is calm and quiet in the car. He hasn’t had any accidents in the week we’ve had him though I haven’t noticed that he signals when he needs to go out, we just take him outside every few hours. He’s been great with the resident dog and they respect each other’s space. I haven’t noticed any resource guarding with food, toys, the crate, etc. Elliot is not a huge fan of the crate and will sometimes bark and whine while he’s in there. He just wants to be right next to someone all the time, but we continue to work on making it a nice place to be by putting special treats and toys in with him. He has barked at some dogs walking past the house, but he’s overall very quiet both inside and out. We don’t have children but I imagine he would be good with them given his gentle demeanor. We also don’t have any cats to know how he he would be as a housemate to a feline friend. He knows sit and takes treats gently but drools quite a bit when he anticipates food or people are eating, so be forewarned! He’s honestly an amazing dog and will be such a wonderful family member.
