Hi I’m Bessie!

I’m 4 years old according to the Breeder Release records, but I look and act more like nine years old.  I enjoy mornings and look forward to going outside for potty and then breakfast. After that love some cuddles and then I just lay on the sofa or go back upstairs to bed. I am potty trained and only want to go out for walk or go potty in back yard three times a day. I love the mornings. Like my foster mom, I don’t like to exercise much. Because I was a breeder dog living a caged up life, I don’t know to play or act much like a dog. So I don’t play with dog toys, but I enjoy chewing a “Greenie” (dental care chews). My stomach hangs which makes me look pregnant, but I am not. I’m scared of people, but I am never aggressive. I will hide if company comes to visit. I shake in fear when I am around new people. It takes me a long time to warm up so please be soft and gentle with me. Loud noises and fast movements really freak me out. I recently showed signs of allergy, so my vet gave me an allergy shot and I am not scratching now. My foster mom can clip my toenails, clean my ears, and give me medication and I don't make a fuss. I can play chase for a little while but then I get tired and look forward to lounging. I would do well in a quiet home with adults or with older kids.  I’m good with other dogs, but I do try to steal the other dogs food if no one is looking.  I also love to sleep close to my foster and seem surprised that human doesn’t want me to sleep in their spot if they get up in middle of night. The foster people have all loved me. I just need a forever home in my life. Will you be my forever home?

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, dental, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , dental, flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $495.00

We are 100% volunteer based, so on occasion it could take more than the standard 24 hours.
