Gemma is a lab mix born approx. 2/4/21 and is your typical puppy. She's curious about everything, endless energy, a little mouthy, everything is a toy including your shoelaces even while they're on you! She needs a lot of obedience training, she has a dominant personality and wants to challenge everyone on everything. If you're looking for an easy going dog, she is not it. I suspect she's got some more growing to do, right now she's about 35 lbs. 

 

The few moments a day that Gemma is calm, she is very affectionate and just loves to give kisses. She was very bitey at first but we started working on that immediately and it improved in a couple days. She also barks a lot but does very well with redirection tactics such as toys, nylabones or kongs. 

 

Gemma is very, very, smart . She learns new skills like a breeze! Getting her kennel trained was quick and easy, although she does seem to deal with some separation anxiety, she will calm down if covered with a blanket and left alone. She loves to play with her frisbee in the yard, it is her absolute favorite thing. 

 

Upon initial introductions, Gemma is reactive to our dog, bunny and cats. We are working with her on exposure training with everyone but it's a slow process for sure. Her energy and wanting to play 100% of the time gets the best of her! She gets multiple walks a day, hours of play time and lots of time in the backyard to explore and STILL has energy to spare!

 

With time, patience and a person equipped with basic training skills, she will be the cuddliest, most loving and loyal companion you could ask for.
