Well hello there! My name is Harvey and I am looking to sniff out my forever family could that be you? As you can see, I am a low-riding Basset Hound mix, weighing in at 41 pounds. But don’t let my old man face fool you I am only 2 years old. I am told I am a pretty chill dude although I definitely have my goofball moments. My favorite things are snuggling with my people on the couch, sitting quietly and watching out the window, and running with my foster brother in the backyard. I also love our walks and do pretty well on a leash. I sleep through the night in my crate no issues, but I do NOT like to be crated and left alone, so when my people aren’t around, I get to hang on the couch in the living room. If my foster brother is with me, I don’t bark but the time he was gone I admit I did cry and carry on. I think I would get used to it over time but probably best that I don’t live in place with shared walls unless I have some sort of buddy. I haven’t caused any problems- ok well I do collect things in my bed and there was that one roll of paper towels I ripped apart…but no true damage done. I am really close to being potty trained as long as we stick to a schedule and you restrict my water when you leave. That being said, I will probably have some accidents my first few days in my new home…I promise I will figure it out quick though! I will admit I am a bit shy, and it takes me a few weeks to really warm up. So don’t be surprised if I try to hide behind my mom’s legs at first meeting, I am much more comfortable with you at our second meeting especially if you will scratch my ears or rub my tummy. Older men tend to take longer to warm up to, but I am never aggressive towards anyone. I also do better when I have a doggy friend around, I trust their signals that people are cool, and I also love to play with them! I would probably be ok with cats, although I haven’t had the opportunity to meet any yet. I have done very well with kids but will need a little training, so I don’t jump up and knock them over. Well that is it about little old me…When do I move in?
