Woof Woof Everyone! My name is Benny. I am an 8- 9 month golden retriever puppy who is in search of my forever home. My foster parents say that I am the sweetest boy who has a lot of energy. I love going outside in the fenced-in backyard, playing with my chew toys, and giving kisses. Since coming to my temporary home, I have had minimal accidents in the house. With a little bit more training, I could be fully potty trained. I already sleep through the night without going to the bathroom (10 p.m. – 7 a.m.).  Something else to note about bedtime is that I am kennel trained, but don’t like going in the kennel. I would prefer to sleep near someone so I don’t feel so lonely at night. I am starting to learn basic commands like sit, come, and “up” to go up the staircase. I tend to jump on people a lot because I am so excited to see them. Again, with a little bit of help, I am learning how to stay down after my owners say “down.” I also need to work on chewing on non-food things like my foster parent’s piano or pillows. One key thing to know about me is that I am a breeder release puppy. This means that I need an extra caring, attentive, and patient owner. When I was first rescued, I could barely walk, feared everything, and didn’t want to eat or drink.  Now that I am with a loving foster family, I am constantly running around outside, going up and down stairs all by myself (I do still need help going downstairs sometimes), eating food & drinking water, and getting startled less. When I do feel scared, I tend to bark, growl, and sometimes howl. Once I am told that everything is okay, I usually settle down.  I do have the bestest resident dog brother. He is a 6-year-old Black Lab Husky Mix dog who I didn’t get along with at first, but now he is teaching me everything he knows about being a dog. My foster parents do not have human kids, so we do not know how I am around human kids. A few last things to know about me is that I am pretty good at being on a leash while walking, haven't been in many car rides before, and am usually not home alone since my foster parents work from home. I have made so much progress since I came to my foster parent’s home and with the right forever home, I will be the happiest pup ever. P.S. I do love treats.
