Amara is a 12-pound mixed breed, thought to be between 9 and 12 months old. She is as sweet as she is cute!  She loves to play with other dogs and with her toys, and loves to chew on sticks in the backyard!

Amara is very smart and curious.  She is working on lots of things right now -- potty training, kennel training, warming up to people.  But she's a fast learner and we've seen incredible strides in the time we have had her!  If she is let out regularly she does great.  She goes in the kennel when we are gone and at night.  She might fuss for a few minutes, but usually settles down quickly, and she sleeps through the night!  She would rather be sleeping with our resident dog in her bed, but our dog doesn't like to cuddle. ;)  She hasn't quite figured out how to walk on a leash and is pretty overwhelmed by the big world out there, so a fenced yard would be best.  She has not been around any cats, so not sure if she gets along with them or not.

Amara is a morning dog! She likes to play hard for about 2 hours after she wakes up in the morning - chasing a ball, wrestling with our dog, chewing a bone. If she gets that good play time in, she is very chill for the rest of the day.

Amara is timid around new people no matter their size, but we have seen a lot of courage since we’ve had her! She takes a little time to warm up, but then is super cuddly and affectionate.  She also seems to be extra-timid around males, but will warm up if given time.
