Hi Friends! My name’s Inca, but you can call me Inky because of the spots on my tongue. I’m a Black Lab mix, about one year old. I’m currently living with my foster parents and their Bernese, Aussie, and cat, and get along with everyone great! Though I may be shy at first, once I warm up to you, I’ll love you forever. While we’re getting to know each other, I may find my safe spaces in my kennel, or cuddled up on my bed under the kitchen table. Don’t take it the wrong way! Sometimes I just need my quiet spots. I absolutely love play time with the other dogs in the house, and sometimes try to play with the cat, though he doesn’t usually want to play with me. One of my favorite things is hopping up to cuddle my foster dad in bed in the morning, or snuggle up for naps in the afternoon with my foster parents and the resident pups. I’m working really hard on potty training, getting better and better every day. With a routine in place, I’m learning where and when to go. While fetch isn’t my sport of choice, I do love a good chew toy, and love to chase my brothers around the yard while they are playing fetch. Occasionally, I will give a good chase to a tennis ball, too. I’m not a huge fan of car rides, but once you get me in the car, give me a good blanket and I’ll be set for a while. Also, while I may be shy or skittish at first, I don’t have an aggressive bone in my body! If you spook me by coming to say hi too fast, you won’t find me defensive, but you may find me high-tailing it to one of my safe spots. One creature I have not met yet is the one they call “kids”. I think they’re just like little versions of my foster parents, so if they give me love and are gentle, I hope to give them love back. My biggest dream is to find loving parents who can give me cuddles and play time, and that I can return the favor. Oh! And maybe give an me a bone now and again, I do love to bring those back to the kennel to chew.
