Hi I'm Alfalfa but some call me Alfie. I'm an Fiest mix born approx. 6/7/21 with a strong nose for scents and the usual puppy energy.
As you can see from my pics I'm a happy boy. My foster mom says I have a smile that can light up the room and I agree. I love scratches behind my ears!
At my foster home I have been playing well with the resident 12 lb yorkie shitzu mix at my foster home. We do "zoomies" together and lightly "wrestle" and play.
It turns out I like cats way too much (some may say obsessed) so I cannot go to a home with cats or small animals because I get too fixated on them.
My foster mom thinks I'm good on a leash especially wearing my harness! She thinks with more practice I will be a great walking/running partner. Now that the weather is warming up - let's walk! On rainy days I can entertain myself with a toy or snuggle in the couch.
I'm working on the basic commands. I can sit and stay and my foster mom thinks I can probably be trained to do most anything because I'm what she calls "food motivated". Speaking of food, if there's another dog in the house I prefer to be fed separate because i love my food so much I don't want to share.
I am good with going into and being in my kennel (with a treat for incentive of course). I sleep in my kennel at night and during the day when my foster parents have to work -all with no accidents!!
My foster mom has only had me in the car once so far (on the way home). She said i was a "good boy". She thinks it helped my confidence that I could see out the windows and was in my kennel.
I am doing well with my potty training. I do my business outside when on a regular schedule. When I get outside I can get distracted by all the greats scents and critters so it's important to make sure I officially do my business before coming back inside. After eating (I love food) I'll need to go out within the next 20 minutes (sometimes less). I don't bark much, but when I do it's usually to alert you that I need to go outside to do my business.
