Goodie has been in a loving foster home with resident dogs for about 8 months. He is around 11 years old, a wheaten terrier breeder release his entire prior life.  He is passive with dogs and cats and just recently opening up to familiar people who visit frequently.  His social status is very fragile and fearful. He tolerates change, but often gets very loose stools after a mildly stressful period.   He has finally taken the initiative to go into the backyard on his own if the door is propped open, and he will cautiously walk around the yard and go potty. He still has accidents in the house frequently but he does go on potty pads if they are generously covering the floor. He stays quietly in his open door kennel or in a cozy dog bed most of the day, getting up occasionally for ear and head rubs from his foster mom.  Active puppies make him nervous and shut down.  He seems to thrive in a super quiet, calm environment.  He does ok on a leash and was off leash staying near me on short walks on some quiet acreage in the country.   This pup really just seems to want a quiet place to live his best life in his declining years.  He rarely barks, never nips, and does enjoy his regular meals.  He’s very much an introvert and doesn’t interact with humans really at all.  He does have sensitive skin, and does well during a bath and haircut at the groomer about every 3 months. He has declining vision and hearing, and mostly naps throughout the day. He's looking forward to finding his person to love him the rest of his life.
