This snuggly Basset mix, Hobbs, is searching for his forever home! At 2.5 years old and 47 pounds, he's fully house-trained and enjoys a calm, easygoing environment. While initially very wary of strangers, he warms up and becomes quite affectionate. An ideal situation would be a quiet household without small children, where he can be a solo canine companion or co-exist peacefully with feline friends or a dog of similar energy. Hobbs is great with cats and respects their boundaries! He thrives on companionship and enjoys walks on a leash (though leash manners are a work in progress!). Food won't be his main motivator for training, so positive reinforcement will be key. He's not a fan of being picked up, but will happily jump up on furniture when invited. He's mastering basic commands, though his stubborn streak might require some extra patience. He is particularly stubborn about his kennel and prefers to be left out. Though introverted at first, this sweet pup named Hobbs has lots of love to offer the right family. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Distemper combo vaccines appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm and flea/tick preventative while in rescue.
