Hi I’m Vanna. I'm a 1-year old Catahoula Leopard Dog. I came into rescue in December with my eight four week old puppies. The first four weeks were rough because I was totally on my own taking care of my babies. I did a really good job and because of that I am now very skinny. My puppies are old enough and have all gone to different fosters. I also came to a new foster family and boy do they love me! They have two dogs of their own and I get along great with them. In fact I have gotten along with every dog I’ve met. Mom and dad are trying really hard to fatten me up. I love my food but am very gentle while waiting for it or when I get a treat. Speaking of treats I LOVE them and mom says this is making it easy to train me. We are working on sit and wait (sometimes I get really excited to go outside and don’t like to wait). Why would anybody be excited to go outside in this cold MN winter you ask....why? Because there are squirrels out there, that’s why! My foster sisters have really short hair so they get cold, but not me. I know to go potty when I am outside and not to do that business in the house. Dad says even though this cold weather has prevented us from going on many walks I seem to be catching onto leash manners. If you have a treat in your hand I may walk perfect. I am very gentle and don’t jump up to greet people. There aren’t any children at my foster home but mom and dad think with my personality I would love them. People are always asking what breed I am, mom says the best breed ever, Rescue Breed. Mom decided I needed a bath; thank goodness dad was there to help. They ended up as wet as I was, yep, I am not a fan of baths. I will go into a kennel with some persuasion but I prefer not to. Mom and dad decided to let me have run of the house for a couple hours and I did great so now I don’t have to go in the kennel. I love to chew on hard bones and antlers and haven’t chewed on anything I’m not supposed to. I love attention and getting pet but am ok just hanging out by myself too. Car rides are fine with me; I just crawl in & relax. Oh, I almost forgot, I may already be a momma, but they think I am only about a year old. My foster parents really love me but know there are a lot of other dogs needing help so they want me to find my perfect furever home so they can help another deserving pup. If you are looking for a furry family member that is eager to learn, mellow, loves being petted and going outside you may be my perfect family.
