Tori is a beautiful 4-year-old mastiff/Great Dane with so much heart. Some dogs are motivated by treats or toys; all Tori wants is hugs. This gentle giant wants to lay next to you while you are at your computer or table and check in every few hours with a hug or nuzzle and make sure you still love her. She is great with family, cautious around new people, but quickly warms up to human strangers when introduced.

She is very well behaved: house trained, kennel trained, rides well in cars, doesn’t jump up on people, and knows commands for sit, shake, and down. Tori doesn’t drool much for a mastiff, and keeps tidy. She does well on a leash and doesn’t pull too hard for her size.

Here’s the thing: Tori’s previous owners left her alone in their house for LONG periods of time before finally giving her up for adoption. She doesn’t know how to behave properly around other dogs yet, and will bark and pull hard on her leash when within 30 feet of another dog. She growls at and chases mammals smaller than her, be they dogs, cats, or bunnies. She has growled at children while on walks or when making introductions (kids around 3 feet tall or 5 years old). She is in training to learn good behavior, but she needs a steady hand (with no other pets in the house) who can put in the work while she is learning. She'd love to meet you!
