Hi! I’m Brinda Sue…. but I don’t really care what you call me, if you’re offering affection then I’m all in!
I came into rescue from a MN reservation, heavily pregnant with a big litter of terrier puppies. They’ve all found new homes, and DNA tests done on them found that I am some combination of boxer, bulldog, American Staffordshire terrier & husky. My foster mom says I act like a boxer most of all. I’m smart, loyal, and I can jump exceptionally high. You’d never notice my husky ancestors, until I open my mouth. I have a VERY high pitched bark, which I do use on occasion when I’m kenneled. I know what to do when I hear ‘kennel’, but sometimes I do it grudgingly. I’d much rather stay loose, and I’m a good girl if you do leave me loose all day. I’m potty trained but need to go out regularly- I have a small bladder.
I like chew toys. And squeaky toys. And stuffed toys. And tug of war toys. Pretty much any toy! I like to stay busy. I REALLY like having canine siblings, and I’m very respectful of their energy levels. I’d like to have a playmate, but if they want to just lay around, I can do that too! When I play, I play rough- both with canines and humans. I live with a three year old, but I knock him over sometimes accidentally. I’m okay with confident cats, but if one ran from me I’d probably chase it. Foster mom says I have a strong prey drive. I don’t know what means, but I do know that I love watching squirrels from the window. I pull on my leash- it’s a work in progress. I’ve improved a lot with consistent training, but I also backslide really fast when I don’t get a chance to practice. I just want to see EVERYTHING and smell EVERYTHING. I’m very smart, and would do well with someone with time to train me so that I can do all the fun things I’d like to do! I have a huge appetite for adventure, and just need a firm handler to teach me boundaries so I can be successful!
I would also do okay with a lower energy household as long as I’m provided with mental stimulation like brain toys, training sessions, squirrel watching etc. I love lounging about and just being close to my people!

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $475.00

We are 100% volunteer based, so on occasion it could take more than the standard 24 hours.
