Hi, I am Jalo, an 8 year old, 15 pound, male Coton de Tulear released from my breeder in Missouri in May. Living the first 8 years of my life as a breeding dog, I haven't had many positive interactions with people and am fearful at first.  I won't come to you, but like to watch you from a distance. Once you pick me up, I enjoy being held and on your lap.  I really don't know much about being a dog, but am making progress with a strict routine.  I sleep in my kennel well at night and while my foster family is at work.  I don't have any accidents in there and am quiet. My kennel is my safe place and I often choose to sleep there even when I have other options.  Large spaces overwhelm me and I do better confined to one room or in my puppy pen outside.  When placed in my puppy pen outside, I pee and poop and then choose to enjoy a nap in the grass.  I won't take food from you, but I do love to eat, evidenced by my chunky size, but I'm currently on a bit of a diet to fix that!  I get along just fine with all the other dogs here. I don't know how to play with them or toys, but enjoy their company and watch what they do.  I haven't met cats or kids yet though. I do really well for grooming, which is good because my breed needs lots of regular grooming! I ride well in my kennel in the car. I'm doing well with house training with my belly band and a strict routine.  I haven't learned to walk on a leash yet, but prefer my puppy pen outside anyhow!  I will do best with a patient quiet home that will help enforce a routine and let me be me!

We are 100% volunteer based, so on occasion it could take more than the standard 24 hours.
