Hi my name is Peanut and I hail from Kentucky originally but am happy to have made the trek up to Minnesota (although I am not looking forward to this winter thing, anything below 60 is getting chilly). I am about 1.5 years old and 30 lbs with long lanky legs and a slender build.

I am a quiet, chill companion who wants nothing more than to sit next to you on the bed while you work, or snuggle up on the couch for a Netflix binge. I am kind of a homebody but my foster mom says I am a great traveler in the car even if I am not so excited about it. And I do love a good boat ride! Inside, my only nemesis is those hard wood floors! I much prefer carpet and rugs so I don’t slip and slide, but I am starting to get used to them.

Outside, I am learning to walk on a leash, but it keeps getting stuck between my legs so I prefer the fenced in yard we visit sometimes. I am sure I will get the hang of it soon, and I don’t pull because the world can be kind of scary and I like to stick close to my people.

Speaking of people, it takes me some time to warm up to new people, but if I am uncomfortable I just try to go and hide. New dogs on the other hand are great! I really like meeting and trying to play with them. I have not been around a cat yet, but Mom thinks I would be fine. I did growl at a larger male dog once, but neither of us were neutered yet so now that we have taken care of that issue, we hope that will improve. I do great with my larger neutered foster brother.

I have done a bit of marking in the house but my other foster brother started it! And now that I am neutered we hope that impulse is a thing of the past. However, if you are worried about it, I can go into my crate when you leave. I stay quiet, but I won’t go in on my own yet. I currently sleep in there at night and just whine for a minute or two because I would rather be sleeping on the bed with you…

So if you are looking for a chill little buddy, I am your boy!
