Meet Bingo! A recent survey showed that 24% of people would rather sleep next to a dog than next to their partner. If this sounds like you then I have the PERFECT dog. Bingo is all snuggles, he would love nothing more than to lay in bed next to you every night. During the day Bingo is normally on the lookout for a lap to sit on or a blanket to curl up under. Bingo is an approximately 2 year old pittie mix, but I’m almost certain that mix includes a heck of a lot of Basenji as well. While he’s not a “barkless” dog, Bingo makes a wide range of silly sounds and just like a Basenji he is simultaneously very independent as well as incredibly affectionate.
Bingo was picked up as a stray by a local pound, where he lived for quite a few months before he was taken in by No Dog Left Behind. At first Bingo was quite a handful for his foster family because he wasn’t quite sure how to be a pet dog but he has learned the ropes so quickly and is ready for a family of his own. He still has some quirks but that's just because he is learning the secrets of the world around him. The more he's exposed to the better he gets. He gets along very well with other dogs. If the other dog wants to play, Bingo loves a good romp but he's also happy to leave his grouchy foster brother alone when his affection is not wanted. Bingo also gets along well with kids and is very eager to meet them, though as a big exuberant boy he's not quite sure how to be careful with small people. However it is worth noting he will feed off the energy of your home. If it's already chaotic, Bingo might not be the guy for you. However, if you want someone to hang out with you on the couch, snuggle in your bed and keep you company throughout the day you are looking at the perfect boy. Bingo is very well crate trained, he is able to stay in his crate during the workday or overnight without any fuss. He loves riding in the car, though he could be better about toning down his enthusiasm and sitting still! He is excellent within the home where he is well adjusted. Unfortunately the outside world is still filled with excitement and wonder and it can be a bit tough for him to focus. On walks he still pulls a lot, because he just wants to see it all. We have taken him to breweries and he has done very well, once he calms down. In a home that is willing to keep working with him Bingo will be an absolute gem of a dog and he can’t wait to meet his forever family and bring his love and kisses into their lives.
