Hello, I’m Franklin. I’m a 2 year old golden retriever, Shih Tzu mix. I had a rough start, spending my  first years in a puppy mill without human affection. I was in a group of recent breeder release dogs and am still learning that people can bring loving touch, treats and security. I’m pretty nervous and frequently seek safety in a corner or the table but with a little encouragement, I settle into a a warm lap and soft petting. In fact, I have become quite the snuggle bug.

I definitely play favorites and will be your loving shadow of you let me. 

I’m working to learn to potty outside and can go days without an accident if my mom maintains a schedule of taking me out frequently, especially first thing in the morning. I love to sleep snuggled up with my family and make an excellent “little spoon”.  I am crate trained and don't mind sleeping in there on my soft bed either. 

I have a 3 year old human foster sister and like everyone else, she makes me nervous but I allow her to pet me and kiss me if she isn’t loud or fast moving. I don’t mind other dogs, but don’t have much interest in playing with them. I haven’t met a cat yet, but I’m fairly certain I wouldn’t show much interest in them either. I need a lot of help learning to be a good walking partner on my leash, but I let you put my leash on and I’m curious about the outside. 

 I need lots of love and patience but know I can be the perfect dog for a quiet, loving home.

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $625.00

We are 100% volunteer based, so on occasion it could take more than the standard 24 hours.
