Lenox (Lenny)  is a beautiful Mini Australian Shepard born approx. 4/24/22. Typical of Aussies, he is the smartest boy!

When he wakes up, Lenox has bursts of puppy energy and after a potty break we have fun playing with toys, running around the yard and some training time.  He is currently learning “sit” and “come” commands, and picks up on cues very quickly, especially if a treat is involved!  I use his kibble as a treat for training and he is very satisfied with that.   Like most puppies he likes his naps as much as his playtime!

He is quickly becoming a pro at potty training. After a few days with us he has only had 2 accidents, both of those on a bathroom rug which must have been too tempting!  He seems to understand that he is supposed to do his business when he is let outside, I am amazed how he has picked up on this so quickly.

Lenox is very eager to play with our resident dogs, unfortunately they are older and not as eager to play with him.  Lenox would love to be around another playful dog or a fun owner that has lots of time to play and train with him.  He is curious about the resident cats but does not harass them.

Lenox has not been around kids yet, but is so young I don’t think he has issues with them. Aussies are herding dogs, so he will occasionally lightly nip (not bite) at your ankles or pants to keep you in line. We are also working on not jumping up on people. He is very easily redirected to more positive behavior.

He does great sleeping in his kennel at night and only cries for about a minute before settling down and going to sleep.  He wakes me up around 4 am to go outside and easily goes back to sleep until 6 am.  We are working on keeping him up a little later so he will sleep later in the morning.

We have not left him alone yet, and while he does great in his kennel at night, he is such a smart and curious dog that I think being in a kennel for very long periods of time would be frustrating for him.

If you are looking for a smart and happy puppy that will be the star of his puppy training class Lenox is the puppy for you!
