Howdy! Is that an ok way to say Hello? I'm Quincy. I’m still learning how to ‘dog’ after spending the first few years of my life as a breeder dog. I can say that so far the pets and food are both pretty great!
I’m about 2.5 years old and currently 61 lbs, but not too big to snuggle up on the couch, ride in the car, or go on adventures!!!!
Although I’m still a little shy at first, I have enjoyed going to softball games, hanging out on dog friendly patios, and meeting lots of people and dog friends at my foster family’s home. I’m quiet and gentle and I looove being pet and just being near my people.
I like riding in the car (doggy seatbelt required because I like to check out what everyone is doing), I don’t chew on things like puppies and like most to sit with my people while they work from home. I have been trying to break the habit of marking my territory, but with my neuter surgery, continued training, and my belly band I think I can overcome that - other than the marking I don’t go potty in my kennel and am good loose in the house too (with my belly band).
I am a gentle soul that would love a job as a therapy dog, a nursing home visitor, therapist support or otherwise be able to go with my person while they work. Part of this is that I’m still worried about being left alone now that I know how great people can be, but that is something I’m getting better about as time goes on.
I love leisurely walks on a loose leash and don’t react to other dogs, cars, squirrels, or people. I’ve been around cats and I mostly ignore them, for sure have no intentions of chasing or hurting them. I’m also great and gentle around kids. I don’t really know how to play yet so all the running and jumping that kids and puppies do is confusing, but I’m super chill and just find a space to watch the commotion from a distance.
Look into my eyes and tell me that I’m the one to join you on all your future adventures!
