River is a 3 year old Aussie mix with beautiful markings. He is around 45 lbs and on the thinner side. He is very food motivated and he is working on lying down when his humans eat meals.  During mealtimes, he will sniff the food on the table and wants to try a few bites (but hasn’t yet).  River loves attention and being with his family.  He needs a lot of exercise and loves to play with toys and balls.  He is crate trained at night and is doing better going in his crate when it is time to do so. When left out, he has been known to chew so you will need to keep a eye on him and redirect to something he should be chewing.  River loves kids (does great with a 3 & 4 year old) but will sometimes try to jump on them when playing outside.  He is learning simple commands (sit, stay, lay down).  He is doing great going potty outside on a schedule.  River is making improvements walking on the leash, but he is still getting used to different sounds and gets a little nervous at times and will lie down. He does try to sniff ankles and herd others at times when walking (and when outside playing).  He can be mischievous at times and take things off the bench (clothing, cooking utensils) and carry them outside or somewhere else to chew but drops them when told to do so. River is very quiet (only heard him bark once at a squirrel in a tree), calm, gentle, and super sweet! He'd love to meet you!

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $475.00

We are 100% volunteer based, so on occasion it could take more than the standard 24 hours.
