Miss Maple is a 9-10 year old Shih Tzu who reminds me everyday of an Ewok and sometimes takes me back to my childhood and I see the dog from Sesame Street.  She has a face that makes you giggle when she looks at you if she hears you call her.

She has no fear of the leash, just tends to zig zag and explore at a fast pace while on her daily walks.  When she has any sort of “thing” to do, whether it be to sit down, take a nap or to complete the most important tasks of the day (wink, wink), she will entertain you with a million tight spins before finally doing her thing.

Maple does amazing in her crate, both while we run errands and all night long.  Her anxiety does give her a lot of “always in motion” activity and tends to walk and pace our home.  Loud noises and quick motions leave her skittish, but she just walks away and shows no aggression. As her comfort level increases, she approaches more and is better at anticipating movements.  Her ears do perk up when she see lightning or hears thunder rumbling and will find solace next to you for comfort during a storm. 

She loves to drag towels and blankets out of her kennel to chew on, so we have given her a couple of stuffed animal chew toys to help with changing her focus and she is doing better with finding those rather than taking apart her bed!

She is your typical 10 year old pup, she is perky and full of energy in the morning and as the day wears on, she enjoys napping and just hanging out in the same room as you!

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, dental, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $350.00

We are 100% volunteer based, so on occasion it could take more than the standard 24 hours.
