Hi I'm Theo! I am a 2 year old Pomeranian mix. The first thing people say about me is, “Oh my goodness - he is so cute!”   Clearly I  have a bit of an ego,  so  let me  continue and  tell you more about me – the stuff that I’m good at and the stuff that I’m working on. 

My foster mom says that I am the best dog she has  helped  and that makes me so  proud ! This is because I am well trained. I am fully house broken and have not had any accidents inside. I also enjoy spending time in my kennel. It’s important to me that I have a kennel space that I can go to if I’m being harassed by other fur-beings or small humans. While I don’t enjoy it when humans leave me alone, I do just fine by myself in a locked kennel or left out on my own.  I’m also a great on-leash walker. This is one of my favorite things to do.  I don’t tug or pull, I just walk and enjoy the time together. To add, I also am a quick learner. Foster mom is teaching me to sit with a finger snap, and to be patient before I barge outside when the door opens. I must say, I pay close attention, and  am pretty close to mastering this.

I am a lover,  snuggler , and a bit needy.  I love everyone  I have met. I am curious to meet people and absolutely love the attention. T o be honest, it takes me a minute to warm up to men , but I warm up quickly. Snuggling or lying close to you, as close as I can, is a must for me. I like to feel safe, and being close to my human  is comforting. Because I like to be close to people, I also require that you touch me. Your hand must be on me, preferably on my head rubbing my ears. A hand on my back is fine. You will find I am so silky soft and it’s relaxing.

I am good at protecting our space. I do a great job of alerting if someone is walking by outside, or if someone comes through the doorway. So yes, I use my voice, but I use it within reason, assuming you listen to me and are aware of the situation.  It makes me feel good when I can see when you return home, so I can excitedly and vocally greet you when you enter.   If there is a space where I can look out the window, I would really like that.

There are a few things I’m most interested in. Soft blankets are my favorite, I like to lie in them and make a comfy spot in them if it’s on the couch or on the floor. I like to have a few different spots that I can go to in addition to my kennel. The best space is to lay in the sun. I could just lay forever with the warmth on me. Inside, outside, doesn’t matter- I’ll find a spot in the sun and bask in it. I also enjoy car rides. As long as I can see outside, I do such a good job. I have great balance and enjoy watching all of the activity outside. Unusually, I’m not a toy lover. Couldn’t care less about toys, or chasing balls. It’s too much activity for a handsome guy like me.

Foster mom believes I would be good in most settings. There hasn’t been a situation where I’ve acted out. There are two children (middle and elementary school age) and I get  along with them wonderfully. I am also in a home with three other dogs, all larger than me. They don’t phase me a bit. I believe I am a big dog in a small body. I sometimes feel I need to show  the  others that I am really the boss, so I may try to top them or let them know I’m going to be the first one to get attention. If you hadn’t noticed, don’t worry, I will be sure you know that my head is where your hand should be, and should always be on me first. This does make the other dogs a bit jealous, but how could you resist me?

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $750.00

We are 100% volunteer based, so on occasion it could take more than the standard 24 hours.
