Hey there! Zanzibar here! Or Z or Zan or Zanzi, whatever you decide to call me! I just turned one year old, so I still have a lot of great puppy energy and lots of love to give. I enjoy having another pup to run around and wrestle with, but I tend to do best with female dogs. I also enjoy spending lots of time with people. I haven't met a person I didn't love. I warm up to people right away! We can do lots of things together. I love going for walks or hikes, and I do really well in public places, like breweries or trips to Home Depot. I do get a little excited on the leash and pull harder than I am supposed to. My foster mom has been working on that with me, and I am better but sometimes I forget. I’m just so excited to see everything that’s ahead of me! I love being petted and sometimes put my hand on your shoulder while you pet me. My foster mom thinks it's cute. Because I'm still a bit of a puppy, I have more learning to do. I sometimes jump on new people when they come in the door, and I still am a little nippy with my mouth. I do well with redirection and love treats so training comes very easily to me. I just need some practice, once I learn something new before it really sinks in! I don't bark a whole lot. Mostly just if a dog is walking outside or if you're ignoring my pleas for attention. My one eye is a mystery to the rescue, it's how I came to them, and doesn't slow me down in the least bit. I can be a little jumpy if I am approached on that side, so I need your help with that. I’m much more comfortable if I can see you coming. I haven’t had a ton of exposure to kids. I think I would really love them, but my foster mom feels I might do better with older kids who understand my needs. I am very well potty trained, and kennel trained. My foster mom says she is impressed with how well I sleep at night, and how I have never ever had an accident in the house. I go right into my kennel whenever I am asked to. I currently live in a home with lots of dogs of all sizes. I really like to wrestle and play with most of them. We have a lot of fun. I would be perfectly happy as the only dog, or I would probably do best with other females. I can’t explain it, but sometimes I just don’t want another big boy dog around. My foster home has two cats that I really want to get to know. But my foster mom says I’m too interested in them, so I have to stay away. One time, my foster dad took me with him to feed our chickens. He didn’t see me sneak through the gate behind him until he turned around and saw I had one in my mouth. Boy, did he yell! But I dropped it right away, and it’s not like I hurt it. But now they won’t let me help with chicken chores either. But they still tell me that I’m a very good boy. I really am! So even though it’s important to share all the good and bad stuff to make sure I find the very best home, I really want you to know that there are a lot of really cool things about me. I can be chill or adventurous, playful or cuddly, an early bird or we can sleep in, outside, or on the couch. I am the most versatile pup, and I really do love everyone! I know there is a family out there just waiting for me. So, let's meet up and have some fun!
