Gigi is a breeder release Pomeranian around 7 years old who spent much, if not all, of her life kenneled. When I first got her she was afraid of almost everything. But, she is both curious and brave and has blossomed amazingly. At first I had to carry her outside, and she would only stay out if I was with her, velcroed to my leg. Within a few weeks she got with the program and runs out with my terrier, and hangs out in the yard until I call them in.  We are still working on potty training, though. I have extra challenges with that as my elderly dachshund uses puppy pads regularly. From the start she would approach strangers for a sniff and a pat. She would do it very cautiously, but it was still brave and not usual for a breeder release. She has no aggression, and no prey instinct. Bunnies and squirrels run right past her in the yard and she couldn’t care less. She likes walks, but we’re still getting used to the leash. Her favorite thing to do is hangout on the sofa with me. She is good with my 2 resident dogs, but not too interested in them. She prefers her person. She can still be clingy, but as come a long way since I got her and I believe will be gaining more independence while she continues to adjust to her freedom. She has exhibited only a passing interest in toys. That could change has she recently had a lot of teeth removed. When she heals completely she might be more interested as she won’t have the mouth pain of rotting teeth. I will kennel her in a large dog playpen sometimes, but she doesn’t love it. She is good with kids, but I think loud little ones would be too much for her nerves. Gigi is sweet, quiet, loving, and agreeable. A perfect companion dog.
