Ridge is an absolutely beautiful 1.5 year old 45lbs male Aussie mix who came to NDLB from Kentucky. He came to us a very scared boy but is beginning to show what a sweet, goofy, curious boy he can be. Ridge is very happy to meet new people of all ages and greets everyone with a smile and a tail wag. He will gently ask for pets and is learning to cuddle on the couch. His favorite thing is being out in the yard, rolling in the grass and watching the world go by. His second favorite thing is looking out the window on car rides. He doesn't bark at human or dog neighbors. He likes playing with toys in the house and playing chase games in the yard with the female resident dog, but growls every time another male foster comes near his kennel. He will need slow introductions to other dogs. He has not been tested with cats in his current placement, but his indifference to outside critters leads us to believe he could exist harmoniously with the right cats. Ridge does not enjoy being left alone, but he has been making progress with kennel training. He will need someone patient to help him work through his separation anxiety. He lived outside for the majority of his life, so he will need help learning what is and is not okay for him to chew on. He did mark when he first came into the house (unaltered) but has gone weeks without an accident and will go to the door when he wants to go out. He is still timid on leash but is steadily gaining confidence. All Ridge seems to want is someone to love on and be loved by, could it be you?
