Martini is a very sweet, energetic, fun-loving and playful young lady.  She loves ALL dogs she's met so far and is submissive to our 12 lb resident dog. She is also gentle in play with our the 10 lb foster dog as well and LOVES to play! We would love to see her adopted to a home with another friendly dog or access to other friendly dogs frequently.

 

A fenced in yard is preferred or frequent trips to a dog park /frequent walks would be ideal to run off her puppy like energy. 

Martini does well walking on a leash (sits nicely in anticipation of attaching the leash) but can get easily distracted by squirls, rabbits and small critters and pull. We don't have cats, but she has met a cat in our presence but did not seem all that interested so could possibly be OK with them.

 

From what we have observed small children startle Martini. A home with older/dog friendly children would be best.

 

She is VERY food/treat motivated so learning sit and stay have been smooth. Martini is well mannered/house trained and has not gone after any items or furniture in the house to chew or destroy bit will occasionally steal a sock now and then.  Her potty training is going very well and on a regular potty schedule and she's beginning to alerts us when she needs to go out by suddenly wanting our attention. 

She is kennel trained and hops right in with a treat as a reward. We kennel her next to our other pups in the house while we are at work all day and she does well. Overall Martini is a very quite dog she very rarely barks in the house and only occasionally  outside at the occasional stranger. Being from Kentucky Martini has quickly adapted to MN and loves the cool air and snow!

 

Coming home to Martini is the most exciting time of the day, even if your gone a few minutes she is so happy to see us when we get home!! Martini is cautious around new adult people but warms up quickly.  Once visitors settle in the house she either asks for pets or goes to lay on her bed or play with her toys. Martini can entertain herself well with a squeeky toy or a bone.

 

Car rides? Heck yeah. She is not anxious at all and curls up in her doggy bed quickly and sleeps quietly in the backseat.

 

Martini has recently learned what cuddling is all about and loves it!  She likes to come up to me on the couch and hug my arm with her paws and lean in and bury her head near my side for the cuddles. At night she seeps in our bed and the cuddling continues.

 

All on all she's a very sweet, fun-loving affectionate girl who is looking for her own person/ family. Is that you?
