Tootie is the absolute sweetest, polite, and smart girl! She is a lab mix born approx. 7/11/22. She is very patient all the time and will sit politely while I get geared up to take her and the other pups outside or prepare their meals or treats. When we are on walks and she sees new things like people, dogs, tractors, she will sit politely and just watch, she is such a lady! She only barks occasionally, mainly at new people, but otherwise just seems very interested in it all and watches steadily in her cute sitting pose. I give her lots of positive reinforcement and assure her when things are safe, she is very receptive to it and is gaining confidence every day. We go on a lot of walks and Tootie does very well on a leash for a pup. She follows basic direction when I call her, she definitely likes to sniff and follow her nose but when we need to get moving she will come when called. She is so smart, she is already pointing when on walks or in the yard, and already doing really well with potty training. Some nights she makes it from 9/10 pm to 7 am with no accidents, or she will use a potty pad. The few accidents she has had were because we weren’t moving fast enough. She sleeps in a gated bathroom with her brother Tubbs. She will sometimes put herself to bed, she is very independent. She is also the leader of the two pups and will bring her brother comfort when he’s suspicious of new things. She is the first to warm up or go check out something new in the park or yard. She and Tubbs spend most of their time together, they cuddle and play with toys, wrestle, and chase each other outside. She has been left alone when I take Tubbs and the resident dog on a walk and she sleeps quietly in the crate, or has been outside with my son on a tie out and kept busy sniffing and watching the boys play. She doesn’t bark in a panic or have separation anxiety, she will only bark if people are passing or when she needs to warn us of potential threat   She has stayed home gated in the bathroom with her brother for probably 4 or 5 hours at the most. They do well and just seem to sleep. She gets along well with our resident dog. He is much smaller than her and she knows how to play gentle (for the most part) and is usually the first pup to initiate play. She likes the resident kids (12 and 14) and their friends. It does take her a bit to warm up sometimes, especially with the rowdy boys but she does come round and is the first to snuggle. She does great in the car, has made it 30 minutes or so and just sleeps, cuddling with Tubbs in a crate. She really is a delight, is so smart and sweet, she will make a great best friend!
