Hi. My name is Kip and if you want an easy dog - I'm the one for you. Just
ask my foster mom who says I'm the easiest foster pup she has had yet! I'm a lab mix around 3 years old. I'm a little timid at first, especially with males who have a deep voice, but I do warm up fairly quickly. My foster mom thinks I had kind of a tough first couple of years of life but things are looking up. I don't like loud noises and that includes thunder and I promise you won't have to raise your voice much with me, I'm kind of sensitive. I've been pretty good since coming to my new foster home, which is a 1-bedroom apt. In the beginning I did like a couple of throw pillows a little too much when I was left alone, but nothing that wasn't fixable. I haven't had an accident since the very first day at my foster home. I'm not a barker, except if I really have to go outside then I will bark and jump around. I do go into a kennel when I'm left alone - I do have to be coaxed in but even though I don't really want to be in there I don't bark when they leave and I haven't chewed on the mat or the blanket that they have in there for me. I love to cuddle up on the couch with my people and at night I sometimes sleep on the bed, but other times I will curl up on the couch or the dog bed that is in my person's bedroom. I love blankets and bunching them up so they are just so. I do like to be comfortable! I live with 2 cats and my mom "babysits" her friend's big dog. I got to go visiting with my people over the holidays and I was lucky enough to meet more people and more 4-legged friends - 3 more dogs and 5 more cats! I sure had fun getting sooo much attention and running with the big dogs. It was so nice out we even went down to the creek and I got to put my paws in the water! I don't mind the snow and like hopping through it - unless it is real cold out. I don't like that below 0 weather! I'm not food aggressive at all - towards people or other animals. I like my treats and I'm very gentle when taking them. I do know the command come and listen most of the time. I also know the sit command but I'm still working on lay and stay. I walk nicely on a leash and I sure like being outside and smelling all the smells out there. We don't have a fenced in yard, which is something I think I would really like so I could stretch my little legs in a nice run and do some fun zoomies - or I could be your running partner. With how much energy I have outside, I'm pretty mellow when I'm in the house. I'm learning what toys are. I figured out the puzzle treat toy on my very first try. I love the bones they give me to chew on and it doesn't even bother me if the other dog takes it. I was also given a whimzee treat and instead of chewing on it like most dogs do, I've just been hiding it - then they find it and I have to hide it again. I think they just like to watch me walk around and try to figure out where else I can hide it. I'm pretty good at using my nose to push those blankets around and stuff it into the crease in the doggy bed. It sure makes them smile when I do that. I'll tell you a little secret, a stuffed toy would most likely not last long around me. I like to take the squeakers and stuffing out of them. Ooops. :) I'm pretty good on car rides, I just get a little nervous sometimes. Oh, and something else that is very important that you need to know about me is I love, love, love pets!
