Hi! I'm Carrie! I'm a young dachshund mix around 2 years old and 15 lbs. I came into rescue very angry and confused after being abandoned. That’s not who I really am though- underneath all that I’m a sweet and playful pup who wants nothing more then to be attached to your hip. I'm a pretty easy roommate! I bark if someone I don’t know has come home, otherwise I'm quiet as a mouse. I am potty trained, meaning I don’t have accidents when I’m contained in a play pen or a bedroom, but the since the snowfall I’ve been refusing to go outside and will instead go once I’m let out to the main living area. My foster mom hasn’t figured out the formula for getting me to go outside in the snow consistently. I might be a good candidate for puppy pad training. I'm kennel trained, and my kennel is also where I feel safe and protected- at first I might growl at you when you try and let me out. Once I'm out I'm totally fine again, and I only did this for the first few days in my foster home. I can stay home alone outside of the kennel too, i don’t have accidents or mess anything up!  I love kids, and have shown zero signs of being stressed by anything they do. I will follow my kid around, just happy to be included. I'm okay with other dogs- it takes me a while to warm up though. I will need a safe space to be able to retreat from them until I feel comfortable. My foster mom thinks that I will eventually become a playmate, especially for smaller dogs. I am really interested in cats!
I’ve had such a traumatic transition that I really REALLY  need a family who will never leave me again. I’m very loyal and need that energy matched. If you think you can provide a lap to snuggle in, and a warm home forever, then I’m your girl!

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dental, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00
