Meet Jade. A 2 year old spitz mix weighing around 27 lbs. She was rescued from Kentucky where she lived on a farm and had very little interaction with people other than the 83 year old gentleman who was trying to take care of more than 12 dogs that were dumped on his property. She was in foster care in Kentucky for about 9 months working on socialization and getting healthy.  

 

She has an awesome personality and likes to go after soft toys that are thrown, but currently she just barks at them all the while wagging her tail.  She also likes to be petted and scratched and if you stop before she wants she will pat your hand twice with her paw.  It was so cute the first time she did it!

 

Jade is mostly house trained.  She likes to stay clean and will do her best to wait to go outside.    

She has claimed her spot in the household with the bolster dog bed in the living room, but she doesn't complain when I put her in the kennel for sleeping over night. She will also go into the kennel during the day on her own, and she does well in there when I have to leave the house.  

 

She is good with other dogs and people including kids, but you must approach her slowly otherwise she runs away.  She just isn't sure what people have in mind for her yet and she is learning how accept humans love and give it back in return.  

 

She is excellent on a leash and will never pull. The one car ride I had her on was about an hour ride and she settled down and did not get car sick.  She spends most of her time relaxing in her bed so her energy level is low to moderate.

 

I've fostered and adopted another spitz before and they are great dogs. You'll be sure to fall in love with her if you give her a chance.
