“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.” Quote by Josh Billings | ||||

I'm Pepperdine, or Pepper for short. Speaking of short...my legs and ears are not.
I'm still rather petite though, just around 25 pounds!
I was recently rescued from animal control and seem to know how to "dog", but am learning how to do it in a home that is loving. My foster family thinks there was either negative reinforcement or lots of yelling based on how I respond to things.
I'm learning how to sit when asked and think it's fun to get a treat when I do it!
I'm doing great with house training, but please make sure you pay attention to my subtle messages of needing to go out. I know it's not good to go potty in the house but if I have to go really bad I will if you don't notice my cues.
I absolutely love being snuggled. I will be right by your side or in your lap any chance I get.
I do great with the kids in my house (6 and 8) and haven't shown any signs of food aggression towards them or the other dog here.
Right now I'm pretty low energy as I'm healing from getting fixed, but seem to have a sparky little spirit that will make for some fun romping around in the future.
I do well in my kennel during the day when my foster parents are at work. I have been sleeping in a kennel in their room at night and stay asleep until it's time for them to get up in the morning. I think it looks really comfy on their bed though, so I could easily be convinced to be a bed sleeper!
I'm learning that I don't need to be frustrated about pets being shared with the resident dog, but am still worried that I will lose out. Until I learn that I will still get lots of love, I'll need to either be an only dog or be with another dog that doesn't get aggressive with me when I am not in the mood to share my people. I do well with other dogs and with my resident dog when pets aren't being given.
I am just fine in the car, I settle down pretty quickly and curl up during the ride. I do get a little nervous on our way somewhere because I'm nervous that you won't let me stay near you.
I would be happy to be your snuggle buddy and keep you wonderful company!
