Lucy is an approximately 3 year-old Cocker Spaniel.  She spent most of her life as a breeder, and was brought into rescue expecting a litter.  She did a great job raising 7 puppies and now she and her puppies are ready to find their forever homes.  She is quite small (about 20 lbs), with an amazing head of "hair" (she reminds us of a certain rock star who first became popular in the 80's), however, unlike the stories we've heard about him, she is very well-behaved in the house.

Lucy is an absolute sweetheart who loves being near her people.  She loves to gently reach up for a hug and to snuggle next to her people on the sofa.  Outdoors, she follows her family around, never leaving their sight.

She loves toys and will play quietly by herself for hours.  She also plays very well with other dogs - she has lived with dogs of all sizes from Chihuahuas to a Great Dane and does well with all of them.  She has also been exposed to cats and considered them as just another part of the pack.  The only time she has shown any aggression was when her puppies were very small.

Lucy is very treat motivated, so now that she is finished taking care of her babies she is working on basic commands.  She will kennel upon command, and does very well on a leash.  She has good house manners, but she will break the rules if there is food within reach.

House training will require a consistent schedule.  She will not soil her crate, and at this point she will not soil anywhere in the room she sleeps in.  However, she is still working on letting her foster know when she needs to go outside. If allowed to go outside every 3-4 hours, she will do well.

Lucy is very quiet, and will only bark when a stranger approaches, or when she hears other dogs barking.  She does well in the car and enjoys going for rides.  She has not had the chance to meet children yet but it is expected that she would do well with them.

This sweet, beautiful girl deserves a life where she is adored and allowed to be part of the family.  She would do well in a variety of homes, with or without other dogs.  If you are looking for a sweet, versatile pup, she would love to meet you!
