Hi! My name is Joy! I am a female golden retriever from Kansas, born in September 2020. When I first arrived at NDLB, I was very nervous but I am really starting to come out of my shell. My foster mom likes to call me her shadow as I love to follow her around. I love to have company and cuddles.
I still have some insecurities so I would love to go to a home without young children as I am still unsure of loud sounds and quick moving things. I have been doing well with potty training and haven’t had any accidents. I am kennel trained and do well overnight or if my foster mom has to work or run errands. I do need some help getting in my kennel and I may bark for a minute but then I calm down and go right to sleep. I would prefer to sleep in the same room as someone.
I do pretty well walking on a leash but may need a little more training. I have not met a cat yet but since I’m pretty mellow, I might just get along with them. I do well with car rides and use them for nap time. I am excited to meet my new family and hope they are ready for so many cuddles!
