This sweet southern boy is homeless due to no fault of his own. Sadly, Rowan’s owner passed away, so we brought him up here from KY for a better chance of finding a new home. Could it be yours?

Ro-Ro is a 43-lb hunk of handsomeness. He’s 100% potty trained, great in the car, sits nicely for treats, and politely respects all your household belongings (even your most delicious-looking suede high heels and chew-worthy remotes). In other words, he doesn’t need to be crated when you’re gone! His beautiful dark brindle and white coat is short, sleek and low maintenance. He’s good on the leash, but will pull if he wants to chase a small critter or tell another dog that they’ve come too close. Not sure how he lost half his tail or that tiny bit of ear, but bet he has stories to tell! Regardless, his sweet, soulful face looks up at you as if to say that this love-bug is now more than ready now for an easy, spoiled-dawg life up here in the midwest.

Rowan’s favorites: Long walks, sleeping quietly in a dog bed on top of your bed, being in the same room as his humans, getting any and all kind of affection (belly rubs are a strong fave), rolling on his back in the grass, chasing squirrels, wagging his cute nub of a tail and ALL the Netflix binge cuddles.

While he gets along great (and even cuddles) with his small dog foster sibs, he becomes protective of them on leash walks when other dogs get too near. We’re working on this with some counter-conditioning and tasty treats and he’s making good progress.

He’d be a great hiking buddy, loyal companion for an active family with a fenced yard, guard dog/binging buddy for a single person, small game hunting dog—or all the above! He does sometimes jump on his hind legs when excited, so a family with older children would be best. Please come meet this sweet buddy and see if you’re a match!

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $425.00
