Are you looking for the perfect family dog????  Then stop scrolling and start reading!

Jasmine is a German Shepherd mix. She was born 2/19/2023. She is currently 25 pounds, and I believe she will get to be about 40-45 pounds.  She is an amazing dog with some excellent characteristics, but has been overlooked because she does have 95% hearing loss. While her disability comes with some training challenges, she has blossomed into a wonderful puppy.  (What puppy doesn’t need training, though?)

Below I have listed some of her perks as well as challenges.  She is an amazing and super loveable puppy - the family that is willing to continue to train will be lucky to have her.

Perks

-          Excellent recall!  This girl stays by her family

-          Potty trained!  She cues multiple times to go outside, but if you ignore the cue, she may have an accident

o   Kennels for 5 hours

o   Sleeps through the night

-          Has learned sign language commands for:  Potty, Poop and Sit.  (She is learning Hungry, Quiet and I love you)

-          Soft fur and low shed

-          Very playful, but she submits to alpha dogs.  She is not an alpha.  She looks to other dogs for direction and learning.

-          Extremely socialized.  She loves dogs of all sizes and ages, people, children, and cats.

-          Almost non-existent prey drive.  She mostly likes to watch the other animals, and will sit and watch curiously.

-          Food motivated, so has been very eager to learn through training

-          She is not reactive to noises such as the vacuum, fireworks and people outside because she can’t hear those noises.   She never barks reactively.

-          No food or toy aggression

-          Loves to snuggle and show her family she loves them

Challenges

-          She will need to be trained further with recall when not in line of site.  We are starting vibration collar training.

-          The only time she barks is when she wants something.  The more you know her the easier this becomes.

-          If she is sleeping, it’s important for her to know where you are (so when she wakes up, she isn’t scared). If you touch her while sleeping and wake her up, she can get startled, but has never shown and negative signs as a reaction.

-          Lots of energy!  Best if she had a playmate

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, rabies vaccination if age appropriate, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Distemper combo vaccines appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm and flea/tick preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $595.00
