She make me feel so good.

She make me feel all right.

And her name is G-L-O-R-I-A.

She arrived at NDLB very pregnant, and a couple days after arriving she had 9 babies.  She was an awesome mom to her babies, making sure they all grew up healthy.  Her babies are now old enough and have moved to their own fosters. So now Gloria is finally getting some me time.  We are currently working on adding a couple pounds back now that she is done nursing.

She has had no accidents in the kennel or while sleeping beside us all night long.  She also never nags to go outside in the middle of the night (wish she could teach our dog that).  Sometimes when we kennel her she cries for a couple minutes when we leave the room, but it isn’t loud and she doesn’t bark. Today we tried an experiment and left her laying on the bed, instead of in her kennel.  We checked on her via camera and she just laid there contently for several hours, never bothering anything on the end table or the trash can.  She walks well on a leash.  She doesn’t pulled on the leash at all.  In fact, she usually stays close enough for the leash to be loose.

She does well with other dogs if they don’t try to get right in her face.  If they do get in her face, she gives them queues that they are invading her bubble. Our neighbor’s newfie came up all excited but approached politely and they were fine.   She is interested in cats, but doesn’t bark at or chase them.

Gloria is still a little timid, but has come a long ways in the last week.  I think with a little more time she will gain more confidence and come farther out of her shell.

One thing that can be misleading in the pictures is how petite she is.  The ball and bone in the picture are not small, and the person she is walking beside is only 5’4”.  She rides well in the car and is a great size for travel, because she doesn’t take up much space.

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate),  Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age , Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $395.00
