Kyra is the sweetest little ball of love! She is a Maltese Poodle mix who is about 7 years old and weighs just 8 pounds. She is believed to have been a stray because she was severely matted upon arrival into rescue.  She is currently sporting a shaved hairdo, but her hair will grow medium-to-long length and require grooming. Kyra is learning that having a home is a wonderful thing to have. She’s learning that she gets lots of praise when she does her business outside.  Potty training is coming along beautifully! She lives with foster mom’s, 2 resident dogs who she loves.  She met neighborhood dogs who are bigger than she is and she was scared of them. Inside the house, Kyra has run of the house and she frequently jumps onto beds or sofas to lounge and nap. She has never been in a crate, so it’s not known if she’d do well if she was crated.  She hasn’t shown an interest in toys yet, but she LOVES treats, and dinner time makes her very excited.  She does best with a soft food diet because some teeth are missing.  Rides in the car are becoming one of her favorite things to do, especially if a trip is made somewhere where she can get a pup cup!  She’s doing great with walking on a leash, but she doesn’t like to walk too far, and certainly not walk fast. 

Kyra is with her foster mom all day and she’d do best in a home where someone will be home with her most of the day. She should also be in a home where there is another small dog. She’s a sweet, gentle, quiet little girl (haven’t heard her bark yet ) and she’ll make a wonderful companion to someone who’s looking for a lap dog.

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $425.00
