Please say hello to Leo Lane, or Leo as we call him.

He was living in a coal mine, being fed once a week by a security guard there. He was extremely underweight, and tick infested. A Good Samaritan stepped up and took him in before something bad could happen to him. Unfortunately, the Good Samaritan wasn’t allowed to have dogs in her home and couldn’t keep him. That is how this special guy ended up with us.

Leo loves playing with other dogs and sharing his toys. He will bring a toy to the other dog to play tug of war with him. Amazingly, considering his past, he doesn’t show food aggression and happily shares his food with other dogs or lets them steal the treat out of his mouth. He is a fairly active boy looking for an active family to call his own. He loves his walks but gets a little overexcited when he sees his harness. He could use some loose leash training for his walks. We are working on his self-control by making him sit and wait before opening any door. Leo also loves to lay on the couch and is happiest when he can touch you. He loves pets and rolls over right away for a good belly rub.

Leo has gotten comfortable around cats. He was a little scared of them when he first came to his foster home but now goes up to the kitties enthusiastically to sniff them.

Leo loves running around outside with his furry friends and running after tennis balls. He is doing well on his house training and will bark when he wants to go outside. He is a great car rider, just sits and takes it all in.

There are no small children in his foster home, but he has been doing great with them at adoption events.

He really is a sweet boy that loves people and dogs. Any family would be lucky to bring him into their home.
