“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.” Quote by Josh Billings | ||||
Husky / Mixed (long coat) : : Female : : Adult : : Medium
Truley is a senior female husky mix who was brought into rescue after a long period of neglect. She and her friend were found tied up with little room to move with another dog in the home found in poor condition as well. All were very underweight with severe cases of mange. Truley was in very rough shape. She was very underweight, missing fur on her underside, tail, ears and face. She was miserable, itching and having a hard time eating. She also is very hoarse, and isn’t able to bark normally. When she was brought into rescue, she looked more like a hyena or coyote than a dog, but her sweet disposition and need to be near people was endearing. By the time she reached her foster home, we found a few other health concerns – a large mass on her abdomen, difficulty chewing, and a lot of itching. Truley has been seen by our veterinarian and was spayed, had several teeth extracted, was given medicine for her mange and the mass was removed from her abdomen. She will continue her medicated baths for a few more weeks. Her beautiful coat has grown back considerably and she is now a striking “mini husky”. Truley enjoys the indoor life – especially her big fluffy bed and the delicious meals she is served each day. She enjoys taking walks, but is happy to explore the house as well. She has excellent house manners and has not had an accident in her kennel or anywhere else in the house. She likes to run once in a while, but is really a low energy girl. She is excellent on a leash, and generally ignores other animals in the yard (cats, rabbits, chickens etc) She also enjoys going for rides in the car and snuggling with humans. She adores being petted and enjoys gentle ear scratches. This girl is amazing and has come so far in a very short time. After a challenging start, Truley deserves to live her remaining years in a warm, loving home where she will bring joy, laughs and cuddles to a lucky family. Please consider meeting this old gal – you will instantly be mesmerized by her charm.
