This is Wally. He’s a Coton de Tulear born 6/23/23. Wally came to me mistrustful, shy and scared. It took him almost a week to stop hiding. My dogs helped him with gaining some trust with me. He will come up to me but I am not allowed to touch him. He does let me pick him up when he’s laying down now. He hid from the crate with his sidekick, Mellie. However, he has his own bed and he sleeps in it next to me on the floor. He got on the bed using the steps and slept next to me, not too often, but he has. He wants to trust me but it comes slowly.

He is not house trained and it took him a while to use the potty pads but when he is outside, he will use the outside. He is using the pads more every day. Overall, he does great during the day. He is excellent with kids. He likes to snuggle and play with them. I have no cats so unsure how he would do with them. He loves my dogs. It took him a few days to get comfortable but plays, runs and is comfortable with them. No leash training at this time as he isn’t quite ready for that yet. He rode in the car well. At first, he will hide but now sits up front or in the back and looks out the windows. When he plays, he plays hard and has lots of energy and sleeps when he comes inside. He loves to play with all the toys, especially tug o war. Wally will do well with kids and other dogs that will play with him. He just needs to get to know and trust you. Once he does, he’ll be a great dog!
