Sandra (Sandy) is a toy Australian shepherd born 6/16/23.  She quickly adjusted from a breeder release situation to a home environment. After a day, she was running around the house and yard like it had been her everyday experience. She likes being around her humans and is a bit of a jumper. We immediately started to train “sit for pets” and the jumping has significantly decreased with the most of it now happening when she first gets out of the kennel. She likes to lick faces and that is also being worked on. She LOVES running. She and the other dogs in the house play chase until they are made to come inside, yet on days when it’s not nice out she seems to get enough activity in the house. 

We are working on potty training and are doing okay with timed breaks and watching for excessive sniffing but she has yet to ask to go out. When she is outside, she does best when it’s just her so she can focus on the task at hand. Sandra sleeps in a kennel in its own room with her sibling at night and during the day when the humans are at work.  It usually takes about 20 minutes to settle down however she sleeps through the night once that happens.  

She is currently in a house with 2 younger teenagers and 2 big dogs.  She has no fear of either and enjoys playing with both the dogs and kids.  She walks ok on a leash but prefers to run in the yard. Sandra attends soccer games and is actually very quiet and chill when there.  She loves her Benebone and generally goes to that to chew rather than household items. Overall, she would enjoy a home with more energy and activity.

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $750.00

We are 100% volunteer based, so on occasion it could take more than the standard 24 hours.
