Meet Beau! Beau is around a year old (born approximately 10/15/22) and came to Minnesota from Kentucky. He appears to be a chocolate lab mix, possibly with Irish setter or springer spaniel. Beau is a sweet guy who loves to follow his people around and thinks he’s a lap dog. 

 

Beau is a young boy who loves playing with other dogs, though his energy and puppy play-style can be too much for the older dogs in the home. Beau is beginning to figure out fetch and will jump high in the air after a bouncing ball. Beau is working on his basic obedience as well as leash walking. He does get excited when passing other dogs but is food and toy motivated and redirects well. Beau is working on learning to settle in the house but does tend to pace in the evening if not directed to his bed or crate. 

 

Beau sleeps well in the crate at night, though he is quite cuddly and makes a great nap buddy. Beau stays in the crate when his foster parents are at work and has had no accidents. When crated, he spends most of the day sleeping or chewing a his toy. Beau has gotten much more comfortable jumping into and out of the car and spends most drives laying in the back seat. We have had no issues with him getting carsick.  

 

Overall, Beau has been a very easy foster. He is quick to warm up to new people and has gotten along well with other dogs. Beau does not currently live with cats and may have a tendency to chase. Beau is a young dog and still has lots to learn so we feel a more active family, preferably with a yard, would be an ideal fit.
