This is Hawkeye. He is a 4.5 pound Maltipoo. His birthdate is 10/14/23. Hawkeye is a very sweet, affectionate little guy. We are working hard on potty training and it is coming along nicely. We have a way to go, but he is catching on. He loves to hear “Good Boy!” when he finds a spot and goes potty outside. The only treat he is motivated by is Rotisserie Chicken, LOL. We are also working on crate training. At bedtime he goes in and doesn’t cry any more. He sleeps all night. We are still patiently working on liking the crate during the day. The chicken is only used when we work on the crate training, cuz he loves his chicken! Any other time, if we need a treat, we use a bit of a hot dog. That works, not as well as the chicken, but it works. Hawkeye loves to play with my 6 year old grandsons. They take him out to go potty, try to walk him on leash, hold him and feed him. He loves the attention. We have not been around other dogs or cats yet. He is still getting used to his leash. He doesn’t mind having it on, but is not quite sure of it when walking and he decides to stop. We have taken three car rides and he does well when he sits in the passenger seat. He just always needs to see me. He has short bursts of energy, but loves to sit on my lap as much as I will let him. He keeps up running and chasing the boys though. I think this is his favorite thing to do. When I leave for work he does get sad when he has to be in his crate, but he is getting better. I am usually gone for about 3-4 hours at a time. He usually does not mess in his crate. He loves meeting new people even though he is shy at first. He will make any family a wonderful new member. The more he can be around people and not in his crate the better.

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $850.00

We are 100% volunteer based, so on occasion it could take more than the standard 24 hours.
