My name is Trey. I am a roughly 1 year old chi mix stray from Mexico, weighing in at about 22 lbs, and a happy functioning tripod who was given a chance of a good life by the rescue.
I am learning and responding to my name. I love to play and love toys of any kind. I can even play by myself for some time.
With very short coaching, my first foster family was amazed at how fast I picked up learning simple commands. Let me brag that with an open hand signal, I know it is telling me to sit or stay. Sometimes, I lay down by your feet. I know that when my foster family says, “Hey, Trey stop,” I must have tried to do something not allowed, so I stop. I will nudge your hand when I am asking for attention. I lay my head on your lap to show I care.
I still get a bit excited, so I often forget and have a habit of standing on my favorite people, but I get the clue right away if ignored with a little body language of turning back.
I love food and treats. I sleep straight 8 hrs quietly in my crate on my fluffy blankets without accidents. When my first foster family was away from work, I would wait patiently in my playpen. When I am running around the house, I did not mark any place at all.
I crave attention so my crate is in my first foster’s bedroom but I am slowly starting to explore the world independently. But I don't really mind if you share your space with me.
I am still learning to love the leash and I am starting to remember the command “crate” (apparently that means I should go in my create).
I heard her praise me for never being aggressive but commented I am so energetic. Despite losing my leg, I know how to navigate the steps and it does not stop me from enjoying the day.
I would love it very much if I could have a play buddy my age and energy level. I have so much love to give!
