“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.” Quote by Josh Billings | ||||

Hi My name is Clyde and I am the BESTEST Boy! I am about 2 years old and came up from Arkansas (with my very pregnant girlfriend Bonnie) to start a new life here in Minnesota. I have been living my best life here so far. The cold hasn't bothered me and I enjoy any and all outside time, almost as much as inside cuddling time on the couch. I LOVE my people and all my dog friends, however, I haven't met any cats yet. I am a very playful boy and love to tussle and play hard with my doggy foster brother. I like toys although they can become casualties of tough playing and I love throwing a ball around for myself, although I haven't really gotten the hang of bringing it back so my human can throw it again. I don't love getting in the car and do a bit of drooling while I am in there. My mom thinks this is probably a stress reaction from the long car ride up from Arkansas, and thinks my fear will go away once I feel stable and understand that I am not going somewhere to be left with all new people. She does, however, recommend a doggy seat belt or crate for me otherwise I might try driving the car for you! I know how to sit, am incredibly fast, and very smart! So smart in fact, that I learned to jump my yard's 4 foot fence on day 3 of being here. I wasn't trying to escape, I just wanted to meet the dog that happened to be walking by on the sidewalk and came back to my mom when she called. I do like to add my voice to the neighborhood chorus when someone starts it up, but I wouldn't say I am a barky dog, and it has gotten less now that I am getting used to my home. I walk pretty well on a leash with a little pulling, but mostly when my foster brother is also pulling (I definitely follow his lead in most things and would love to have another dog buddy in my future home.) I haven't met children yet, but I get excited and wag my tail when I see them on walks. That said, my Mom says I would probably do best with older children as I have a tendency to jump up and I would likely knock little ones over. I am also a little mouthy- I am not trying to bite, just play (it is the herder breed in me) but it can get a bit carried away. My mom is working with me on this, and I am starting to realize that no means no. I am good in my crate. I don't always want to go in right away because I don't want you to leave, but at night I go in just fine to go to bed. I do bark for a minute or two when you first leave, but I calm down quickly. My mom has started letting me free roam a bit while she is working and I usually decide to stay in the office with her. I have not had a single accident in the house since I arrived. If you are looking for a good boy like me, I would love to meet you! I promise to start every day together with full-body hug and some sloppy kisses!
