Hello! I'm Dolly!
I'm a recent transplant from Arkansas and already loving life here in Minnesota! I'm possibly part Chihuahua and part Dachshund, and my Foster Mama says I must be part Fennec Fox because of my ears. Though my background is not entirely known, I am very polite and well-behaved. I love to play fetch with my 4 and 6 year old foster sisters and never nip or growl at them. If it were up to me, I would probably have someone on hand specifically to throw toys for me to chase all day long! That's not to say I don't know how to relax - I'm a world-class power snuggler and have even spent time sitting on my foster dad's lap while he does who knows what on his computer. While having my humans at home is definitely my favorite, I do calm down quickly when in my kennel after just a *tiny* bit of whining. In fact, after the first couple of nights, I have been sleeping all night in my kennel and not waking up my humans until they let me out! My foster mama says this is very Good Girl behavior.

What else am I great at? I go potty outside! I'm still working on cue-ing my family when I need to go out, but I haven't had any accidents since my first day in Minnesota when I was still getting used to everything. I'm generally quite a quiet thing, though that might change as I get more comfortable. Right now, I do bark when someone comes in the door, but then get scared and run away.

I have quite the prey drive and have scared away all the rabbits that have been terrorizing the gardens at my current home. I'll sniff out a toy that's been thrown up high or in a box and find whatever way possible to get at it. I love love love my squeaky toys, but haven't given any attention to the kids' toys that aren't mine - I told you I was polite! I am a bit timid on walks, but respond fairly well to leash correction. My humans have had to pick me up for a bit occasionally if there are big dogs barking at me from their houses - I'm so small and the world is so big!
Before coming to Minnesota, I went on a little adventure that ended up with me having some scrapes or burns on my tummy and legs, but they seem to be healing up nicely, and I never lick or bother them.

It might take me a little bit to warm up to new people, but as long as you are good and kind and great at snuggling (and willing to toss me lots of toys), I'm sure we'd be a great fit! I can't wait to find my forever family and come home for good.
