Meet Irene!

This 9-month-old retriever mix is 35 pounds of sweetness, playfulness, and puppy charm. Irene came up from Arkansas and has been blossoming in her foster home ever since.

Irene loves to play—whether she’s wrestling with the energetic foster pup, Preacher, or playing a gentler game of chase with the older resident dog, she knows how to match the vibe. She’s also incredibly affectionate and will often pause mid-play to come check in for pets and attention.

She’s doing great with her crate training, settling in comfortably at night and during the day. She may let out a little protest if she sees other dogs having fun without her (classic FOMO!), but she settles quickly. Irene is still working on potty training, but with a consistent schedule, she’s making steady progress. She’s also doing wonderfully with leash training and enjoys exploring the world on walks.

Irene hasn’t been tested with cats or kids, but with her gentle nature and a little guidance, she could likely adapt well. She would thrive in a home with another playful pup, but could also do well solo if her humans are active and engaged.

Now fully vetted and ready for adoption, Irene is looking for a loving family who will continue her training and give her the love and structure she needs to keep growing into her best self. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful companion with a heart of gold, Irene might just be your girl!

Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $585.00
