“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.” Quote by Josh Billings | ||||

My name is Wizard. My foster parents brag that I am a loving, affectionate, and strong, energetic boy. I am house- and crate-trained. I love puppy-wrestling with my brother, a 40 lb hound dog, and my sister, a 70 lb white German Shepherd. I have a strong desire to please those around me, which makes me very responsive if my parents or sibling are unhappy with me. A strongly worded 'no' or sharp bark stops me in my tracks. Because my brother is such an alpha and my sister is so big, I may need some supervision around smaller dogs initially, so that I can learn what is appropriate. I don't know how I'd behave around cats and would need a controlled introduction. Though my current foster parents have no children, I love running along the fence with the neighbor boy, and he loves to play with me! I am currently learning how to roll over, walk on a leash, and that it is not okay to jump up on my foster parents when they come home from work (even though I haven't seen them in what seems like forever!). From the fosters: my husband and I have been quite impressed with Wizard--he is such a fast learner and generally wants to please the 'alpha-dogs' around him--people or canines. He responds quickly to positive reinforcement and has learned how to behave from our two dogs after only three weeks. He is a very 'cuddly' boy and likes to snuggle in with his foster siblings and us. In terms of exercise requirements, he is an athletic dog--he likes to run, fetch, and play tug-of-war. When he gets a bit too boisterous (as one would expect from a boxer-mix puppy), we place him in his crate for five minutes, and he settles down immediately. Wizard would be a great addition to a couple with dogs or singles looking for companionship. We still don't know how he will be with children in a household, but his behavior around our neighbor boy is encouraging. Currently, Wizard is ~55 lbs and may be done growing. Wizards adoption fee is $280.00More about WizardGood with Dogs Special Needs: Wizard may do best in a home with kids over the age of 15. |
