Give yourself a gift with future bonuses.  Quinn has been living with me for more than two months now and whoever adopts her is going to be in for a series of pleasant surprises.  One of the JOYS of working with rescue dogs is seeing them transform from a hurt, beaten down, hopeless creature into a dog that discovers it's self more every day.  When Quinn came to me, she had 6 puppies and had already been receiving regular meals for a month.  I was constantly amazed that her back legs ever touched the ground because it seemed that the weight of her head was more than her severely emaciated body.  She must have been on the brink of death and gave every last drop to her puppies.  She desperately wanted to just be stroked and occassionally let that desire outweigh her fears.  She was, and still occassionally is, afraid to be touched on the head or around her neck (so she won't be grabbed), afraid to come through doorways if a person is standing nearby, fearful of being forced in a car (where will she go now?), and will eat until either she runs out of food, it is taken away, or she explodes.  I have never waited to personally observe option 3.

2 weeks ago, Quinn started to run when she went outside with me and my resident dogs.  She doesn't just run in the snow now.  She bounds.  She prances.  She leaps and jumps.

She recently started to play with toys.  Either she had never met a toy before or she just hasn't felt well enough to play until now.  Yesterday she started to share toys with other dogs and play interactively with them.  She started playing tag/chase with them too, rather than just roll over on her back and beg for mercy.

When she first came, she would rest her head on my arm while I petted her, letting out a deep sigh as if she could finally relax and not worry about her survival on a daily basis.  Now she is accepts frequent pets and cuddles as if there is an endless supply of them.

She is very good and careful with children and other dogs. She gently herds my sheep and goats...but she likes to pull out my chickens' feathers.  She's still young, 2-3 years old but she is experiencing her puppyhood as it should have been.

Quinn is a gem.  Everyday she grows brighter and shinier.  I'm excited for Quinn to be adopted into a home as soon as possible so that her new family can witness the wonderful changes that are store for her.  She needs love, patience and the same commitment to her that she will give to her new family.

I have promised Quinn that her days of trouble and heartbreak are behind her.  It only gets better from here on out.  Are you the right family to help her live her destiny?  This a truly a fairy tale kind of deal here.  Everybody can live happily ever after.

Quinn’s adoption fee includes: Rabies vaccination, DHPP vaccination, bordetella vaccination, de-wormer, 4DX heartworm/tick disease test, spay, flea and tick preventive, heartworm preventive, pre-paid micro-chip, and a full veterinary exam. Adoption fee: $265.00
